It was a long, arduous journey but I must say that it was worth it. Considering it was my first time outside of my motherland, it was a great unprecedented experience for me. The format of the curriculum, the examination style, the inter-cultural and inter-disciplinary approach were all new and daunting to me when I first started out. But it was definitely a much-needed boost up in the learning curve.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It was a long, arduous journey but I must say that it was worth it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I named this article \u201cone for sorrow, two for joy\u201d based on an old rhyme about Magpies. It is believed that seeing one magpie is an ill-omen whereas seeing a pair is good fortune. Superstitions in this day and age seem a bit silly but that is not what made me name my article in such manner. What I meant to say is that one graduate degree was not enough for me to spread my wings and fly off into a job or a profession.
