Welcome back to our sequence featuring WUR’s international representatives!<\/span><\/p>\n

As promised, here is another blog where you’ll have the opportunity to get to know our representatives and their role. In today’s blog, you will meet Ponti Caroline from Indonesia. Take a look at what she shared with us and learn about her methods <\/span>below! \ud83d\udc47<\/p>\n

Introduction<\/h2>\n

You have probably heard of Wageningen University & Research (locally referred to as \u2018WUR\u2019) having international representatives, but do you actually know what their role is and who they are?
\nWageningen University\u2019s representatives are entitled to represent and promote the University internationally in their country! Despite them currently living in different countries, they are experts when it comes to student- and city-environment here in Wageningen. That is why they are also trusted to \u2018recruit\u2019 students for the master\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n

There are currently seven of them on the team: Yingxiang Zhang representing us in China; Meenakshi Kaul\u2014India; Ponti Caroline\u2014Indonesia; Saki Tanaka\u2014Japan; Francisco J. Martinez\u2014Latin America; Yewon Cho\u2014South Korea; Ryan Huang\u2014Taiwan. You can contact them and learn a bit more about them here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meet Ponti Caroline<\/h2>\n

We are proud to have Ponti representing us in Indonesia since 2008 – that’s 17 years and counting!<\/p>\n

Interesting fact: Ponti is also the director of “GROW – Dutch Universities Representative for Indonesia”, the official representative for several Dutch universities, including WUR, in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The highlights of being an international representative<\/h2>\n

Ponti, alongside the rest of the representatives’ team, plays a crucial role as the bridge between cultures, beliefs, languages and even continents. They are the ones who make the magic happen, bringing everything together!<\/p>\n

\n

“I’m very glad and proud to be the Representative of WUR for <\/em>Indonesia, as WUR is one of the prominent universities in the Netherlands and recently well-known in Indonesia. <\/em>I really enjoy my role as it gives the opportunity for the Indonesian young talents to have a high quality and international education.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bringing awareness about WUR amongst prospective students and staying connected with them<\/h2>\n

The representatives are working with prospective MSc students who are looking forward to beginning their journey at the University. This means they need to understand not only the excitement but also the questions and uncertainties that might arise in students along the way. To ensure everything goes smoothly, Ponti has various strategies to promote WUR and unique methods to connect with (prospective)\u00a0 students. This allows her to continue communicating and supporting the students beyond their application process.<\/p>\n

“We introduce and make contacts with our prospective students through various channels such as education fairs at universities, personal and online consultations, social media, emails, chats platforms, and more!”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Relatable perspective and advice for students considering WUR<\/h2>\n

As mentioned earlier, the international representatives are truly there for you, guiding you every step of the way – from navigating the application procedure to getting familiar with WUR and its environment.<\/p>\n

“Prospective students are inspired by our comprehensive and dedicated service and guidance throughout the whole process from the very early stage of information to the admission until their departure preparation.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As a final thought, Ponti strongly recommends WUR as it is a remarkable university in the field of Life Sciences and Research. After all, it’s not a coincidence Wageningen is referred to as the “City of Life Sciences”! \ud83d\ude01<\/p>\n

“WUR is the right choice as the study destination in the Netherlands, especially for those who are interested in Life Sciences subjects. Many of the study programs are very relevant to the Indonesian target development and big possibility for the Indonesian government scholarship<\/span>.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
