Are you a prospective student who’s actively looking for information about your future university? Websites, brochures, rankings, comments, reviews… This is all very familiar to you, right? The list goes on and on, but who to trust and which is the most reliable source of information?
\nAmong all of those, you’ve probably come across or heard about Unibuddy, too. However, if you’re still unsure what it is exactly and how it is connected to university life, welcome! All of that will be unravelled in this blog!<\/p>\n

\"Unibuddy<\/a>
\nWhat is Unibuddy?<\/h2>\n

Unibuddy’s story begins with its co-founder, Diego, having similar struggles as every prospective international student, trying to obtain reliable information about universities.
\nThat’s why Unibuddy<\/a> was created – an international platform designed to provide support to prospective students throughout their application journey and initial steps into university. More than 350 Universities have ambassadors on Unibuddy whom future students can contact.<\/p>\n

Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is also part of them! We’re pleased to say that there are Unibuddy Ambassadors for all bachelor’s programmes<\/a>, and that’s the case for almost all master’s programmes<\/a> as well! For each of the study programmes, the ambassadors are carefully selected and invited from a group of WUR’s moderators to ensure proper guidance and a safe, cheerful community.<\/p>\n

What is your role in Unibuddy as a prospective student?<\/h2>\n

Shortly: You ask questions, we, as current students and alumni, answer! It’s that simple!\ud83d\ude03
\nThe details: Prospective students directly connect with current students and alumni, mainly in the form of chat messages. Another cool feature is the “content<\/em>” field, where you can see what students are posting – whether that’s what they do during uni classes or going out with friends after that. Imagine it as Instagram stories, but from the current students’ point of view!<\/p>\n

You can discuss all kinds of topics – application, admissions, student life, classes, student part-time jobs, making friends at a new university, how to overcome hard times, settling in a new city\/country, housing, living expenses, etc.<\/p>\n

The peer-to-peer guidance will allow you to better understand student life with all of its funny moments and struggles from someone who has already experienced it. In this way, you are already two steps ahead, knowing all the tips the current students told you.\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

Chat with WUR students and alumni!<\/h2>\n

After discussing the details, let’s get straight to the point and show you how to begin your student guidance.
\nYou can chat with WUR students and alumni<\/a>, <\/strong>including myself, on our website! Follow the steps below:<\/p>\n

  1. Find your “Buddy” under the “Students” tab. You can filter by Degree level, Area of Study, and Country\/Region.<\/li>\n
  2. Click the green chat button and register for Unibuddy. This will give you an account to chat with current students\/alumni.<\/li>\n
  3. Ask away! Send your questions to the buddy of your choice. They will get back to you as soon as possible.
    \n(tip: Also check out their profile description. You may find a common interest to chat about. It might even be related to your studies, you never know!)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
