Thinking of following a master\u2019s programme at the WUR, but couldn\u2019t attend the Master\u2019s Open Day at the WUR last Thursday? No worries, here you can read the recap thereof!<\/p>\n

Master’s Market<\/h2>\n

In the Orion<\/strong> building, there were stands of each master\u2019s programme, where prospective students could chat with current students or study coordinators of the programme they are interested in. Some programmes went all out and showcased current projects students are working on; for example, the MSc Biosystems Engineering programme displayed a field robot that students designed to detect foreign objects in the field.<\/p>\n

Visiting the master’s market is a great way to engage with current students as well as get a quick taste of what you can expect from a study. If you are still deciding between studies, this is also a great way to make a brief comparison.<\/p>\n

Programme Specific Presentations<\/h2>\n

Each programme also gave multiple presentations throughout the afternoon. During these programme presentations, a current student and the study coordinator\/ advisor explain in more detail what you can expect from the study in terms of subjects, different specialisations, admission requirements and possible career options after completing the programme.<\/p>\n

Presentation on Studying in Wageningen<\/h2>\n

Besides studying, there are, of course, also other factors you need to take into consideration. Together with a fellow student, I actually gave this presentation last week! We covered the general application procedure, the facilities at the university, a bit about what it is like living in the city of Wageningen, making friends and how to find a room.<\/p>\n

Campus Tour<\/h2>\n

As always, there were also campus tours guided by current students. These tours took prospective students on a grand tour of campus, showing all the different educational buildings and some other things, such as restaurants and the sporting facilities on campus itself.<\/p>\n

Luckily for you, you can still join one of these campus tours even though the Master\u2019s Open Day has passed. If you would like to come and check out our beautiful campus, be sure to book a campus tour<\/a> yourself!<\/p>\n

As the Master\u2019s Open Day took place on a Thursday afternoon, prospective students could immerse themselves in the feeling of what it is like to be a student at the WUR, as current students were still on campus (including myself, haha), attending classes or working in groups at the various study spots on campus.<\/p>\n

As an international, I know it is not always possible to attend an open day in person; however, on the\u00a02nd of April,<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0Virtual Master\u2019s Open Day<\/a> will take place.\u00a0You can join the open day virtually through MS Teams.<\/p>\n

You can expect similar content to that on the Master\u2019s Open Day that took place on campus. So you will be able to sign up for various programme presentations, \u201cwhat it\u2019s really like\u201d sessions, as well as campus and Wageningen city insights \u2013 all from the comfort of your own home!<\/p>\n
