Hello, guyss! Have you ever wondered how we, the Blog Team at International Students Team (IST), spend our weekends? You’re just about to find out! Devi, Samir, and I are going to give you a little inside and share how we spent our weekends.<\/p>\n

Devi<\/h2>\n

This weekend I went to Utrecht<\/strong><\/a> with my friends, and it turned out to be one of those days that felt simple but memorable. We spent our time walking along the beautiful canals, exploring the charming streets, and admiring the historic churches around the city. The church in the picture, with its stunning Gothic architecture, instantly caught my attention. Standing there and taking it all in felt like stepping into a different time.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Of course, no city day out is complete without coffee<\/strong>. We found time to sit down, enjoy a cup of iced coffee, and just slow down for a bit. The little coffee stop with my camera, glasses, and bag in the picture felt like one of those small moments that somehow become your favourite part of the day.
\nWe also took lots of pictures together because good company<\/strong> deserves memories to look back on. After all the walking and exploring, we ended the day with dinner<\/strong> under cosy lights, good food, and even better conversations.<\/p>\n

Sometimes the best weekends are not about big plans,\u00a0 just wandering through a beautiful city, sharing laughs with friends, and enjoying the little moments that make the day special! \ud83e\udd0d<\/p>\n

Samir<\/h2>\n

I usually spend my weekends doing short trips within or outside of the Netherlands. Last week, I visited my friend in Leuven, Belgium<\/strong>. I took a train from Ede-Wageningen to Belgium, which takes around 3-4 hours. Leuven is a beautiful student city, and it’s a perfect place to spend the weekend with friends. I also had a chance to stop by Brussels<\/strong> and enter the building of the European Parliament. If you are into EU politics and curious about its functions, then as a visitor, you can enter its buildings and learn new things!<\/p>\n

In my opinion, Belgium is the most convenient country to visit outside of the Netherlands because of its distance and what it has to offer. It’s pefect for both solo and group travels. If you haven’t been to Belgium, then it’s the perfect time! I would highly recommend visiting places like Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels and the southern areas for hiking as well.<\/p>\n

\"Leuven<\/a> \"EU<\/a><\/h2>\n

Zlati<\/h2>\n

You might have heard about the Saturday markets<\/strong> in the city centre before from a previous blog<\/a>. That is because it is highly relevant to me and, honestly, pretty much all WUR students, haha. So, go take a look at that blog, you will find out more about how my usual Saturday goes!:)<\/p>\n

On Sundays, I like to “take it easy” and make them more centred around things that I have to do. I do some cleaning<\/strong>, laundry<\/strong>, and get in a bit of studying<\/strong>, too. Something I don’t do as often as I would like is to have an unwinding\u00a0moment<\/strong> in the evening. So, by putting it out here, I am holding myself accountable to start incorporating<\/a> this even more into my Sundays. It is a really nice way to end the week and prepare for the upcoming one!\u2b50
\nOf course, it still happens that we go out with friends on Sundays too, but most of the time this happens…for the 100th time…on Saturday, visiting the market.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the weekends are when travelling around<\/strong> happens!:) I love love love to go around the Netherlands with friends or my sister for fun daytrips when we have the opportunity.<\/p>\n

This weekend I went to Groningen<\/strong>! It was my first time, and oh, it was an adventure. Firstly, super unfortunate with the train situation where so many trains were cancelled, and it took me 5hours to reach Groningen..but you know how it is with NS \ud83d\ude04. Nevertheless, I still loved the city so much! It is very beautiful and lively, with a lot of students and young people, too. Nightlife is also on another level – there are so many people going out, especially on the weekends. Walks, restaurants, pubs and bars, clubs and silent discos, the choice is rich.<\/p>\n

\"Groningen<\/a><\/p>\n

Currently, I am on the way back to Wageningen and writing this blog about how I spent those past two days. As I mentioned before, the weekends are the time when I can give more attention to my other responsibilities and interests aside from university. So, you can consider blog writing as part of my usual weekend activities as well!\ud83d\ude04<\/p>\n
