Senior scientist biorefinery, lignin valorisation

My name is Richard Gosselink and I have a Chemistry background. I am working for more than 25 years in the research field of biorefinery and lignin valorisation. I based my PhD work on the latter subject. Besides the fractionation of lignocellulose in its main components, cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, we look for the development of novel applications for these components. Lignin can be used among others for use in bio-asphalt, fuel additive, composites, glues, and for the production of bio-aromatics.
