Muriel Verain holds a PhD in consumer behavior from Wageningen University & Research. The focus was on the identification of consumer segments related to healthy and sustainable food consumption and underlying motivations. In addition, she holds a Master of Science degree in Management, Economics and Consumer Studies, with a specialisation in consumer behavior from Wageningen University & Research. Since 3 year, she is employed as a consumer researcher at Wageningen Economic Research. She is involved in project management and in conducting quantitative consumer research in the food, health and sustainability domain.
