Summer Festivals and Events in Wageningen

By Zlatoslava

Summer is the season of music, festivals and colour in Wageningen!☀️
While studies were still underway during period 6, those events came right on time, providing a good balance so you could enjoy the hot months to the fullest.

Arcades & Fair (May)

Kermis Wageningen is a funfair organised around Ascension Day. There are various amusement park rides, games where you can win prizes, and of course, yummy food and snacks. This year was my second time going. It is always fun to go with friends, especially at night, when the fair is lit up with colourful lights!
Overall, it is an amazing opportunity to get that adrenaline rush or a good laugh. 😀

Festivals (June)

0317 is THE Wageningen festival! (And that is not only because 0317 is the phone code for Wageningen;))
It is centred around electronic music and arts, and the schedule is filled with activities for everyone: multiple music stages, dance workshops, an art market, and many performers. Make sure to also follow their Instagram page since a lot of updates are posted there too.

WUR Summervibes festival‘s timing couldn’t be more perfect. Dropping right in the middle of deadlines and exams, it is the absolute best way to close your laptop, grab your classmates and colleagues, and celebrate the arrival of summer with amazing vibes, music and good food.
Because it’s organised by the university and hosted right on campus, you might expect an academic environment. Exactly the opposite, in fact! The festival kicks off in the afternoon and runs all the way until the end of the day, making it the perfect day-to-night activity to wrap up the academic year.

Summervibes festival 2026 at WUR Campus

I love love the Summervibes festival, and every year it just keeps getting bigger and better. Our beloved carousel🎠was there, alongside two 2 big music stages featuring incredible performers playing a mix of different genres. This year, for me, the absolute highlight was the karaoke! New, but very full, it was unmatched energy with students shoulder to shoulder, singing (and screaming, ahha) lyrics at the top of our lungs.
Beyond the music, during the day, live podcasts on intriguing topics were hosted, as well as a science programme, and even the presentation of the Teacher Awards to celebrate our favourite professors. And that wasn’t even all! With so many more activities running side by side, it is impossible to not have fun!

More!

Many students and student houses organise their own gatherings, parties, events, raves, and so on! Honestly, every time I see something new and the variety is wide.

BeaTreece Circus

For example, with some friends, we watched the BeaTreece Circus. They are a collective of aerial and circus artists who bring way more than just cool acrobatics and tricks to the stage. Their performances are connected to deeper meanings, leaving the audience with something to think about afterwards.

If you missed the fun this year, definitely make sure you go next summer. I hope you’ve marked all of those down, waiting for you next year!

See you around,
Zlatoslava
