Welcome to Open Days at WUR
In a few days, WUR will welcome potential students for Open Days, where you can learn about student life in Wageningen. What exactly are Open Days, and what do you get out of them? Let’s find out in this blog, where I will be explaining the Bachelor’s Open Days, the Master’s Open Day and the Virtual Open Day.

Bachelor’s Open Days
The Bachelor’s Open Days at WUR is are on-campus visit days open to visitors and interested individuals. It is aimed at prospective bachelor’s students who are interested in studying at WUR. The Open Days allow you to explore WUR’s programmes, campus, student life, and ask questions. It’s a great way to decide if the study environment and programme are a good match for you.
During the Bc Open Days you can:
- Attend presentations about different bachelor’s programmes (what you’ll study, structure, workload);
- Take a guided campus tour, see buildings, facilities, and get a feel of life in Wageningen;
- Join sessions tailored for international students;
- Ask questions of students, faculty, and admission staff.
This year, Bachelor’s Open Days take place on Friday, 7 November 14:00-19:30 and Saturday, 8 November 09:30-16:00 CET. The programme includes general information about studying here, a campus tour and experiences from students and associations. There are also Bachelor-tailored activities that you can attend. Check out this page for more information and sign up for the Open Day on Friday and Saturday.

Master’s Open Day
Master’s Open Day follows a similar structure to the Bachelor’s Open Days. You can attend the event on campus to learn more about the Master’s degree at WUR. With the Open Day, you will be able:
- Visit the campus and experience the student / academic atmosphere for master’s programmes;
- Attend presentations about different master’s programmes: curriculum, specialisations, admission requirements;
- Meet faculty, study advisers, and current master’s students to ask questions about academic life, research opportunities, and careers;
- Get information on practicalities: application process, admissions, housing, and living in Wageningen.
This year, Master’s Open Day will take place on 20th November from 16:00 until 20:30 CET. The list of Master’s programmes is extensive, so you can sign up for a maximum of 3 presentations. The programme also includes information about student life, campus and Q&A sessions. On this page, you can find all the relevant information.

Virtual Open Day
If you are not able to visit Wageningen for Open Days, then we have you covered. WUR also offers an Open Day in an online format where you can learn about different things through your computer screen.
During the Virtual Open Day, you will get the following:
- Interactive presentations of programmes (Bachelor’s and Master’s) where you can learn about content, structure, and specialisations;
- Live chat with current students and study advisers where ask your questions in real time;
- Virtual tours: international students can guide you around campus online, showing locations, student life and studying environment;
- Content for international students, including information about studying in the Netherlands, housing, student life and admissions;
- Recordings: the presentations are recorded and later accessible to those who couldn’t join live.
Virtual Open Day this year is on 4th of December, and to participate, you can use this link.

- Chat with students and teachers: They’re your best source for honest, real-world advice about studying and living in Wageningen.
- Take a minute to reflect: After the event, jot down your thoughts — which programmes or vibes stood out to you? It’ll help when you’re choosing where to apply.
Student Experience
Here are two student quotes about attending the open day at Wageningen University & Research:
“After a positive impression during the Open Day and the good talks with students of Wageningen University the choice was quickly made.” — Babette, Master’s Aquaculture & Marine Resource Management.
“I would suggest making it to the Virtual Open Day. Also, talk to students that are currently in Wageningen and get their insights. If you have the opportunity, visit the university.” — Louis, Bachelor’s Food Technology.
